Motor Skill Learning in Children Born Preterm
Learning movements is a fundamental aspect of development, however, children develop their movement at different rates. Children who were born preterm might be at a greater risk for delayed motor development, however, we do not know they also learn movements differently than children born at term age
In this study, children ages 5-8 complete three visits during which they practice visuomotor learning tasks on an iPad, in addition to other tests of motor function and development. In future research, we hope to develop strategies and interventions that might enhance or accelerate learning new motor skills for children.
