Mya Smithberg

Mya is from Kankakee, Illinois. She is the first class of 3+3 OTD students and received her B.S. in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Psychology. She is currently a member of Marquette OTD class of 2026. During her undergraduate degree, she was mentored by Dr. Ng at Marquette University. As an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Ng’s lab she was able to gain knowledge centered around the impact of multiple sclerosis. Mya also performed qualitative research in her undergraduate career asking the question “What does music mean to people?”. Mya chose occupational therapy because of her passion to live life to the fullest and address each person holistically. Mya hopes to one day help patients achieve their fullest life. In Mya’s free time she likes to read, golf, and spend time with loved ones.
