Sophia Bertrand

Sophia is from Atlanta, Georgia, and is in her second year of Marquette’s OTD program. She graduated with a B.A. in Experimental Psychology with minors in Spanish and Neuroscience at the University of South Carolina. She received the Magellan Apprentice and Mini-Grant Scholarships to conduct research on Theory of Mind development in children with hearing loss at Hearts for Hearing Institute then presented her results at the Discovery Day Conference in 2018. Additionally, she worked in a Neurolinguistics lab at the Institute for Mind and Brain for three years. She received the Magellan Scholar Grant to conduct research on how transcranial Direct Current Stimulation affects spatial regions of the brain in repeated reference dialogues. Sophia loves to mountain bike, cook, read, play board games, and knit.
